For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be a photographer – well, since I realized Princess wasn’t actually a career option, anyway. I think a new camera was on my Christmas or birthday list every year throughout elementary school. I was fascinated by every brand and model. In high school, I got my first “real” camera, a Canon 35 mm SLR, and I fell further in love. My first job, as a receptionist at a local photography studio, assured me I that I was going into a field I cherished and taught me a lot about the business side of photography. I am so thankful for that opportunity.
I spent four years at Arkansas State University, earning a B.S. in Digital Media and Design, with hopes of one day opening a photography business of my own in Northeast Arkansas. When my husband encouraged me to make the leap and leave my part-time desk-job in 2008, I was nervous, scared, and very excited. I am so glad he gave me that push of encouragement at just the right time. The dreams of my childhood have become a reality that is even better than I imagined.
I cannot envision a better career for myself. I love how time is frozen in each image, allowing the moments to be remembered forever. I enjoy seeing a client’s eyes light up when they hold a finished print of their children. I have always said that every moment in life is worth capturing with a camera; and, since becoming a mother, that statement has become truer than ever. I would love to be the one to capture those moments for you.
